La bibliografía sobre Ateneo de Náucratis que se ofrece en esta página está organizada en apartados temáticos. Dentro de cada apartado, la ordenación de las obras obedece a un criterio temporal, y no alfabético. De todos modos, los interesados pueden consultar así mismo un listado general por orden alfabético (éste sin clasificación alguna). La imposibilidad de recoger toda la bibliografía referida a cada uno de los pasajes citados por Ateneo nos ha obligado a ser selectivos en este aspecto, incluyendo, por lo general, únicamente estudios y comentarios que se refieran explícitamente a Ateneo, y no únicamente al autor u obra por él citado. En caso necesario, incluimos entre corchetes la referencia al pasaje concreto del Banquete de los eruditos al que se refiere cada estudio. Las reseñas se recogen a continuación de cada obra.

Queremos señalar, además, dos sitios web que pueden ser de utilidad al estudioso de Ateneo:

Por una parte, el proyecto Digital Athenaeus. A digital edition of Athenaeus of Naucratis, dirigido por Monica Berti, que ofrece diversas herramientas de interés, entre ellas el Casaubon-Kaibel reference converter.

Por otra, el listado completo de citas de los Deipnosofistas (incluyendo lo que se suele denominar "testimonios" de los autores), actualmente en marcha como parte de un proyecto más amplio ( La tradición literaria griega en los ss. III-IV d.C. Gramáticos, rétores y sofistas como fuentes de la literatura greco-latina (II)), dirigido por L. Rodríguez-Noriega Guillén. Por ahora están ya on-line las citas de los libros I-V, que también son accesibles desde las páginas de los diferentes autores citados.

Animamos a los visitantes interesados en el tema a que nos envíen sus mensajes, ya sea para compartir información, ya para contribuir a mejorar esta bibliografía, indicándonos publicaciones que no estén incluidas en ella.
